What Do The Ups & Downs At Your Pets End Of Life Truly Mean?

It is common to experience highs and lows in your pet's physical and mental well-being as they enter their senior years and end of life. These ups and downs can manifest in their behaviours, interests, and overall disposition. As a result, you are left to navigate this challenging time in a state of confusion, fear and doubt.

When you can understand why this happens, you'll be better able to navigate their end-of-life journey and gain more peace in making the decision to help them transition.

I have learned as an animal communicator that these ups and downs are a natural part of the end-of-life journey, and they are actually NEEDED in preparation for their transition.

Here are four reasons behind these ups and down to help bring you more clarity during your pet's end-of-life journey:

Helping you prepare for their passing

This is your animal helping you prepare a little bit at a time to let them go. These ups and downs help you connect with and move through your emotions surrounding their passing. Experiencing these ups and downs can help you become more present with your animal, and as you move through the emotions, work towards greater gratitude for the time you have together.

Their body is releasing their spirit gently in small increments

This is the body's way of preparing for the transition to spirit. It takes a lot of energy for the body to release the spirit and each of the ups and downs is the body's way of gently releasing a little bit of their spirit at a time.

Pre-death energy surge

This is your animal's way of celebrating your relationship one last time. This experience leaves pet parents the most confused. In a pre-death energy surge, your beloved pet will seem like their younger self again. This energy surge can last minutes or hours. Take this time to relish in the joy and celebrate with them.

Fueling Their Transition

As I mentioned, the transition to spirit takes a lot of energy. You may see an increase in appetite in your pet’s final days. This is your animal's way of fueling their upcoming transition.

When you know these fluctuations are a normal part of the transition process. You can lessen your chance of being surprised and introduce greater peace into the process. Consequently, you will experience greater presence, allowing you to shift from acting and making decisions from a place of fear or confusion to a place of love.
