On Pet Loss And Walking Through Your Grief

When we view our animals as having a soul, we can reach inside for more profound gratitude and appreciation for our time with our beloved pets and the amazing gifts we received.

Once our beloved animal has passed, we grieve and long for them.

If we remain open to love and gratitude in this time of deep grief, we can walk through our pain from their loss and find courage, healing, and a new self we never knew we had.

In this place, we can see our animal's gifts appear. They show up just when we need them and will continue to come for the remainder of our lifetime.

These gifts that surprise us over time help us mend our hearts and slowly bring a smile to our faces.

Our connection to our raw emotions allows us to receive their wisdom and love for us from the afterlife.

This new place where we now stand after they are gone is a fragile one that holds a window to our most vulnerable selves. Death and grief open our hearts so wide we cannot easily close the doors on our emotions.

In this place, we bravely face the world and learn to stand on our own. We are shakey and look around as we find our feet again. We take timid steps, and with each step, we find an inner strength we didn't know we had. We are changed forever. Each loss takes something from us and returns us so much in return. We become wiser and find empathy and compassion for ourselves and others.

We now move from having a physical relationship to a spiritual one with our beloved animal, opening us up to an even deeper level of communication, compassion and connection.

Thus bringing a new understanding of our animal, of ourselves, the purpose of our relationship, and all those around us.

May we walk through our grief with grace and ease so we may see the wonders that are all around us.
