How Our Pets Bring Awareness To Our Emotions

I was recently called to help a client understand why her cats have been acting out. Her youngest cat had started pooping in the bathtub!

From my experience working with animals, they ALWAYS have a reason for their behaviour and come up with what they think is the best way to get their message across. Most of the time, their way of getting their message across doesn't make sense to us, but it makes perfect sense to them!

During our communication session, it was clear that in this specific case, this cat was asking her person to take a good look in the mirror or, to put it literally, take a look at her $#!T.

While the specific "why" of soiling outside the litter box can be quite complex due to various reasons, I've found that it always comes down to your cat needing to get your attention ASAP! Your cat wants you to know something is wrong in their world. That world involves you, their environment, or something within themselves.

Cats pick up on all of the energy in their surroundings. This means that when there is an energetic change in the home, they know it. This change is typically related to how their person or family is feeling. In this case, there was an elephant in the room that no one wanted to notice or talk about. This elephant caused a lot of stress-filled tension in the air that the cat became sensitive to. When the energy gets too much for our pets to handle, they begin to act out. In this case, the cat started soiling outside the litter box as her way of dealing with the stress.

All animals are feeling beings; they feel everything because they live from their heart all the time! So they feel our heart, even when we can't or don't want to feel it for ourselves. We are masters of blocking, avoiding and living in our heads/thoughts and worry. We must give our pets credit for helping us take accountability for our emotions!
